So a few weeks ago, I ran into this short on my YouTube page. Its a video of Fantano critiquing Djesse Vol 4 by Jacob Collier. At this point, I’d been in a bit of a Fantano rabbithole, randomly running into him on my feed, and much to my annoyance, getting very engaged by his content. One thing cannot be denied about Anthony Fantano—he is unbelievable at grabbing—and keeping—your attention.
Suffice to say, Fantano dunked on this album completely. And I got pulled into a rage-induced search pani

Nirmal Pillai's pseudo-love story set in Bangalore is, at its core, a good movie. It's definitely not something groundbreaking—not that that's a bad thing, but more on that later—but it's a well-thought out idea executed reasonably well.
In terms of the craft of filmmaking, I don't think Bata Boy and Crocs Girl is brilliant by any means. It certainly gives off vibes of being made on a small budget—for instance, the movie is almost entirely dubbed rather than recorded on site; and so, in a lot o

Hello, and welcome to Internalize!
Just a short update post this week. Things are getting quite busy for me, with exam season rolling around, so I’ve decided to stop posting blogs every week.
I’m still going to work on stuff, though! I intend on working on an album, and quite a large YouTube video which will take time to complete. But the time commitment has definitely reduced and will definitely reduce more over time too, until exams are done!
But thank you so much for sticking around, and c

Ever since my midterm prep made me extremely busy and stressed, and I realised that life wasn’t going in the direction I wanted it to go; I decided that I wanted to make some changes in my life to try and make life a little more fun and a little less exhausting.
I want to work on things sustainably, so I’ve been trying to make shifts to try and reduce the chance of burnout as well.
So far, there have been a couple of changes that I’ve made that has helped my happiness and stress levels immense

I saw this meme a couple of days ago about world tours, and the fact that most musical artists, when referring to world tours, end up just playing in the most default, cliche countries.
It was a little bit of a surprise to me, then, that a smaller artist like Jacob Collier was able to visit way more places than larger artists like Taylor Swift, for example. He’s been travelling to quite a few places, but most importantly (for me, at least), he came to India!

Welcome back to the blog! It’s been a while!
Exam season just finished, so I’m finally able to get back to the blog and release stuff again! Unfortunately, my days are usually filled with college prep and extracurricular work, so I’m just as busy as I used to be, but I don’t need to think about academics too heavily (at least for the next couple of months).

A couple of days ago, a lot of people in my school found out that I do this stuff (gestures broadly) in my free time.
I wasn’t exactly happy about it, though. For some reason, I was really worried about people I know (in real life, that is), finding about my content.
I didn’t really know why, and that’s what I want to talk about today.
The Problem
For the longest time, I’ve been a little bit worried about people I know (in real life) and interact with on a day-to-day basis finding out about

When this blog was initially started, one of the many things I would write about was music. I would talk about my upcoming music, my musical journey, and things I would have experienced while making music.
I want to write something similar to that this week! I want to talk a little bit about how my musical journey has been evolving over the last couple of months, the projects I’m working on, and how I intend to move forward.

A to-do list and a calendar are two tools that are integral to my workflow. Both are equally important, with each occupying a slightly different role in my life.
Ask any productivity YouTuber and they’ll tell you that a calendar and to-do list app will instantly improve the way you work (and I tend to agree with this sentiment, for the most part), especially if you have to balance many aspects of your life. I think that using a calendar and to-do list will probably be most valuable to working p

After DaVinci Resolve finally released on the iPad (after a lot of public pressure), I started to use it more and more.
At this point, I’ve used it for a few months now, and I think that’s enough to come up with a judgement as to whether it’s good or not, and that’s what I want to talk about today.
Long story short, it’s really good. Honestly, it may be the best iPad editing app (except Final Cut… but I can’t make a judgement about Final Cut because I haven’t used it).

As you may have figured out last week, I’ve been obsessed with learning more about how to use tech to enhance different aspects of our lives.
While the social elements of our lives have definitely been enhanced (at least to an extent) due to social media, I don’t subscribe to the idea that the “work” element of our lives has been improved by tech.
While technology is used pretty heavily in most jobs nowadays (as well as in the lives of many students), I think that it’s used pretty inefficientl

As technology becomes more and more prevalent in our lives, it’s important to learn how to use it and integrate in into our workflows.
Tech, when used, should ideally fade into the background. It shouldn’t get into the way of a workflow; rather, it should enhance it. It should make workflows more efficient and/or more reliable.

WWDC this year was filled to the brim with hardware announcements, leaving software and update news to the side.
Apple barely spent any time talking about the iPadOS update, perhaps because most of the event went in talking about the updated Macs (the Mac Pro and Studio), “new” Macs (the 15-inch MacBook Air, basically the exact same as the current M2 MacBook Air model), and of course the star of the show, Apple’s Vision Pro headset.
The super-packed nature of WWDC this year meant that Apple ha

It’s tech season again! Today, we talk about one of the most looked-forward-to (and at the same time, most interesting) tech announcements of this year: Apple’s take on the virtual reality headset, called the Apple Vision Pro.
Sitting at an absolutely ludicrous $3499, it’s definitely not a product for the masses. It’s a product meant to spark interest in a new category that Apple will perhaps invest more into in the future, perhaps even making a cheaper headset.
Apple has always been extremely

Something I tend to run into quite often while doing something “creative” (whatever that means, but that’s a blog post for another day) is not knowing where to go next.
I don’t really find it too difficult to start things (especially after I created a system for idea generation and capture), so the first few sessions of doing something (especially when it comes to making music) is fairly simple. I have a vague idea, and I can just put work into that one idea. I don’t need to flesh it out fully
Mukund Shyam
The creative process, from the outside looking in, is something that looks like something that would be fun to try and get into. To some extent, it is! The kind of fulfilment that comes from doing creative (which is, to be fair, sort of a vague term nowadays) is not replicable at all.
But, doing the process consistently (at least, consistently while attempting to improve) is a lot harder than it looks, and definitely a lot harder than I expected. That is, actually, a big reason why I’ve found i

Why does one make music?
I think everyone makes music for one reason and one reason only: they love music.
As a job, music isn’t exactly the most stable one in the world; most people who want to do music don’t “make it” to the extent that their income is enough to sustain themselves full time. People attempting to become a musician just for the money (or the fame) are unlikely to have the mental willpower to push through times of failure.

ChatGPT, the AI chatbot that took over the internet a few weeks back, has now been replaced by Bing’s version after Microsoft’s gargantuan investment in ChatGPT’s creator, OpenAI.
With Google’s chatbot Bard on the way, I wanted to investigate whether Bing Chat is indeed an improvement over ChatGPT, and whether it has perfected the art of the chatbot.

I think now, after doing this blog for a while, I want to try something a little bit different.
A couple of weeks ago, I wrote a couple of posts on YouTube and the creator economy, and I really enjoyed thinking and writing about it, and I really want to make more blogposts just like that.
I think I want this to become a bit more focused on tech and music (the two main distinct passions I have), and I want it to be a place for my opinions on new tech and music.

Let’s talk about the Second Brain system.
The Second Brain is a system that was pioneered by Tiago Forte, and it works on the principle that human brains are really good at creating ideas, but not remembering them.
What is the Second Brain System? Why is it useful?
The second brain helps collect those ideas and also helps you come up with new ones from tiny bits of information that you already know and have.
It helps you start from abundance instead of starting from scratch. If you have to

I just launched a podcast last week! The podcast is going to be (basically) an audio version of the blog, with some small extra stuff added for the people who enjoy listening to stuff instead of reading. Podcasts are also something you can listen to while doing other stuff like doing chores around the house or working out, which (obviously) is not a property of blog posts.
As I foreshadowed last week, I wanted to talk about my experience of starting a podcast and how easy (read: not easy) it wa
