Perspective

There is never only one truth.
Truth changes with how the environment, the individual, and society changes.
If there is only one truth, it is tyrannical. If there is one person who doesn’t believe in religion (a form of truth for a certain group of individuals), and a theist rule/society shun them for not believing it, isn’t it cruel and/or oppressive?
All truth is perspective based. Maybe that’s the only truth in our world: perspective (literally and figuratively) dictates how we view the world.
The most powerful yet untapped ability us humans have is to understand other people’s perspectives.
I believe that humans are both the most stubborn yet most influenceable people in our world.
It is extremely hard to change someone’s political beliefs right away. It is hard to convince people that the world is round, and people actually landed on the moon, and vaccines are safe; if they don’t initially believe it.
On the other hand, it is extremely easy to convince people to buy your product, or to convince them that your brand is trustworthy.
Maybe we should use our knowledge of the human psyche to try and spread information. To be fair, it is already being done in the form of political ads; but I don’t think that politics is the most ethical use of targeted marketing.
Maybe we should use this to show everyone that the COVID vaccine is safe for the whole of society.
You are the average of the 10 people you are most around. As every single person is around 10 different people, everyone is different, and therefore their beliefs and their perspectives are different.
To change people’s beliefs, you need to be able to put yourself into people’s shoes and figure out why they believe things.
As I said, it is really easy to change someone’s perspective. If you know how.

The Earth’s not only the ball of rock that we live on. It is also the stories we tell about it. - John Green, Turtles All The Way Down
We need to understand that there is no universal truth. We don’t know anything; for all you know, Newtonian and Einsteinian physics are all incorrect.
As I’ve said already, we need to be able to evolve perspective-wise. But we also need to be able to convince people to change their perspective if we believe theirs are wrong or unsafe. Every perspective is right (or every perspective is wrong if you think about it) but its only right to that person. Perspective should continually evolve with the knowledge of new information.
Perspective is everything.
