Why you should start a blog

“To help others, you only need to be one step ahead.”
This blog is in its infancy. I have written almost nothing at all, and I can already feel that its helping me.
In this post, I would like to convince you all to start writing online.
Motivation
Getting motivation to do something is not easy. This will help you become more motivated to do different things.
As I said in my first blog post, starting something is the hardest part. Once you start something, the motivation of actually maintaining it seems to come pretty easily. And once you become motivated to write, it is actually quite easy to redirect that motivation to something else.
As soon as I started this blog, I became a lot more motivated to work on my photos and videos, and also practice my music. I’ve found myself to become a lot more consistent with my work and I’ve become a more organised person.
Expressing yourself
I’d argue that the easiest way to express yourself is to write. If you are reading this, chances are you know how to write, and you have access to the internet.
You already know how to write, but to actually become good at writing is a lifelong journey. So I’d encourage you to just write off the top of your head, not thinking about whether its good enough or not. This leads you to slowly and steadily become a better writer.
But why write online? The reason for this is discipline. Once you commit that you’ll publish at least one blog post a day, or one a week; you’ll actually write. If you’re just writing in Google Docs, you won’t actually be able to sustain it.
It doesn’t matter what you write about, it just matters that you write. Just use this to share your thoughts and opinions.
Clearing out your head
Before making this, I always had these thoughts in my head that would continuously come and go. Once I made this blog and put those thoughts into words, my mind has become a lot more clear and I became a lot calmer. If you have a journal, you’d be familiar with this effect.
So, once you make a blog and dump your thoughts onto the computer in the form of words, it will make you a lot more calm and clear-headed, making you an overall more productive and fulfilled person. I’ve already become a lot happier.
COVID has been terrible for all of us, and all of us have wild, existential, sometimes confusing thoughts, and putting it into words kind of gives it closure. This is why you should make a blog.
How do you do it?
Let’s say I convinced you to create a blog. So how do you do it?
It will take you 15-20 minutes, at the max. Go to Substack, create an account for free, hit publish, and voila; you have a blog. If you want to, you can change the accent colours and stuff of the website.
The most important part of this is to maintain. Write according to a schedule, like once a week or daily or anything. Again, to reiterate, it doesn’t matter how good the writing is, and it doesn’t matter what you write about.
To reiterate, the benefits of this are:

So hopefully i was able to convince you to create a blog!
If I did, make sure to reach out to me! I will definitely subscribe to it!
Be sure to show this to others if they too need convincing.
And remember, the hardest part of the whole thing is hitting that “publish” button.
Thanks for reading.
